It depends on your vase size, stem fullness, and the look you’re going for. These guidelines can help you plan a balanced arrangement:

• Bud vase: 1–3 statement stems or a small spray.
• Small table vase (6–9 in): about 5–8 mixed stems (include greenery fillers).
• Medium vase (10–14 in): roughly 10–15 stems, combining focal flowers and foliage.
• Floor vase/tall urn: 5–7 long stems or branches often fill nicely.

Using odd numbers and varying heights tends to look more natural. Many artificial stems come in different lengths (around 14–50 inches on site), so check the listed dimensions and mix greenery stems with silk flowers for fullness.

Many artificial stems include a flexible wire or PVC core, so gentle shaping is usually possible. If you need to shorten a stem, these steps can help:

1. Bend first: Try bending to see if shaping alone fits your vase.
2. Measure and mark: Decide how much to remove and mark the spot.
3. Cut carefully: Use wire cutters for wired stems; trim slowly to avoid crushing the coating.
4. Finish the end: Wrap the cut tip with floral tape or a cap to cover sharp edges.

Work slowly to avoid damaging silk or real-touch coatings, and consider basic eye protection when cutting. Product details may note bendable wire or materials that are easier to trim.

Light, regular cleaning helps keep fake flowers and greenery stems looking fresh. Consider:

• Quick dusting: Use a soft brush, microfiber cloth, or a cool hair dryer to lift dust.
• Spot clean: For silk flowers, dab gently with a barely damp cloth; avoid soaking to protect dyes and wiring.
• Wipe plastics/PVC: Gently wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed; dry thoroughly.
• Refresh shape: After cleaning, fluff petals and re-bend wired stems for a natural look.

Keeping arrangements out of direct sunlight may help reduce fading. Cleaning methods can vary by material, so a small test spot is a good idea.

Most artificial stems on the page are designed for indoor décor, while some listings note indoor/outdoor use. For covered outdoor spaces, these tips may help:

• Check the description: Look for materials like plastic/PVC or notes about outdoor suitability.
• Provide cover: Use in shaded or covered areas to reduce moisture and UV exposure.
• Secure arrangements: Anchor stems in planters to limit movement in wind.
• Rotate/bring in: During storms or extreme heat/cold, consider moving arrangements indoors.

Placement conditions vary, so reviewing material details on each product page can guide where a stem will perform best.

For floor vases, long stems typically create better proportions. A helpful approach is:

• Proportion rule: Aim for total arrangement height at about 1.5–2× the vase height.
• Length range: Stems around 30–50 inches often suit tall vases; tabletop vases usually pair with 12–24 inches.
• Stability: Keep roughly one-third to one-half of each stem inside the vase for balance.
• Shape to fit: Bendable wired stems let you arch or cascade for a natural look.

You can filter by stem length, flower type, and color on the site to find the right fit, and choose pickup, shipping, or delivery where available.
