02 Sensor Delete(110)

If your vehicle's check engine light comes on or you notice issues like poor fuel economy, rough idling, or failed emissions tests, it could be a sign that your O2 sensor needs replacement. Oxygen sensors help monitor and regulate your engine's air-fuel mixture, so a faulty sensor can impact performance. It's a good idea to consult your owner's manual or a trusted mechanic for diagnosis before purchasing a replacement. Walmart offers a variety of O2 sensors compatible with many makes and models, making it easy to find the right fit for your car.

Many O2 sensors are designed for direct fit and can be installed by DIY enthusiasts with basic tools.

• First, locate the sensor in your vehicle's exhaust system.
• Disconnect the old sensor and carefully install the new one, following the manufacturer's instructions.
• Be sure to work safely and avoid hot engine parts.

Upstream O2 sensors are positioned before the catalytic converter and monitor the air-fuel mixture entering the engine. Downstream sensors are located after the catalytic converter and help track the converter's efficiency.

• Upstream sensors affect engine performance and fuel economy.
• Downstream sensors are mainly used for emissions monitoring.

To find the correct O2 sensor, you'll need your vehicle's make, model, year, and engine size.

• Check your owner's manual or look for part numbers on your existing sensor.
• Use Walmart's search filters to narrow down compatible options.

Common signs of a failing O2 sensor include decreased fuel efficiency, engine misfires, rough idling, and the check engine light turning on.

• Some vehicles may also fail emissions tests.
• Unusual exhaust smells can sometimes indicate sensor issues.
