Sportsman 1000 Watt Inverter Generator - CARB Approved

7.4 amps times 115 volts equals 851 watts and this little Genny can run a fridge that requires these many watts. If a hurricane happens this year in Florida we'll have cold food and we'll be making ice. Thanks sportsman and Walmart for this lightweight machine. It weighs as much as a case of beer, unbelievable.

Bought this unit as back up for my boat and small camper's electrical needs if the batteries get low. Have not used it in the field yet. After receiving the unit, added the 10w-30 oil to crank case as per instructions and fuel to the tank and started it up. Started easily once I had everything in the right position. Let run for a few minutes to warm up and the plugged a 100 watt work light in for break-in for one hour. Let it cool down, then tried plugging in my heat gun on the low setting, (700 watts), it picked right up and ran great. Tried the 1500 watt setting on the heat gun the generator shut down instantly, as it should, on over load. The unit does what is supposed to, it is light and easy to start and very quiet. Much better quality than I was expecting form a generator in this price range. I would say it's a good value if you need a generator in the low wattage range. I like the fact it is a inverter type generator which gives a clean sine wave output, important for electronics.
