It holds me sitting on it at 220 pounds, granted I don't know how long is trust it for. I got it for use as a foot stool for portable toileting help(like a squatty potty). it is a bit taller then what I have at home but usable. Way too small for adults, this is for kids or better yet, toddlers. I returned it because my 6 foot 200pound husband would not fit on it. It's too small even for an adult to use as a foot stool unless you have very tiny feet.
