Sponge Grow Capsules

I purchased a pack of these sponge grow capsules as a gift for my 3 year old granddaughter. (You only receive one package and it's random) This was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted an inexpensive and fun activity that might hold her attention and spark her creativity. These were perfect! The "growing" activity kept her entertained for quite some time. You simply drop the capsule into a small amount of water, and then wait a few minutes for the capsule part to dissolve. The warmer the water, the faster the capsule will dissolve. We extended the activity by using warm (not hot) water and by growing them one at a time. The end result is somewhat lame, and flimsy sponge animals. They look close enough to an animal to guess what they are. I suggest to not have high expectations for the actual sponge animals. It wasn't so much about the quality of the end product as it was the quality time that I shared with my grandaughter while growing the animals.

These growing capsules are really fun and easy to use for kids. They make a great gift or prize for any occasion.
