Warm and relatable!
This is definitely a heart warming good read ! Mud Marbles brought me back to my own childhood in so many ways. Shelling peas with my cousins on my Grandparents porch, family reunions with at least one wild family member and sleep overs revealing family secrets that you will take to your grave. Tolar Miles has won me over with this wonderful Southern Novel.
If you love the south and the charm of the south, then this is a must read. Back when people actually sat on the porch and talked...not like today with people sitting and staring at their phones. I'm from the south and have these values.. Thank you Tolar Miles for writing a truely southern read.
Enjoy a little quiet time.
Mud Marbles is such a fun read. It is full of "Southern Charm." I enjoyed it so much that I sought out the author's next book, Delta. Just curl up in a comfy chair and prepare giggle! Would recommend to all my girlfriends.
Bless her heart th...
' Bless her heart ' this author has caught the charms of the old time, sippin' from Mason jars, south and written an amazing book that you Suwannee HAS to be biographical! EVERY family on earth would be blessed to have a 'Mincy' in their midst and i'd bet most of us DO have an Aunt Marble or two in the mix. Two sisters take the time to sit on the front porch of one of the closely-knit family homes and reminisce. It's the stories they share of earlier times and older relatives that just captures your heart and makes you start talkin' suthern. I love Mincy's quote: " You can choose to make yourself like a piece of sea glass tumblin' through life, or you can rely on others to make you into something." ( like a marble) I choose sea glass.....
