Awesome lifesaving thermometer

This item was a true lifesaver! My oven started acting strange after a power outage. Since I rent, I figured I needed to prove there was something wrong. I set oven for 400 yet this showed actual temp at 560!! Dangerous! Took photo to show owner who promptly replaced the stove/oven. I tested the new oven with my now handy thermometer and the oven temp was spot on!

I think it's working?

I don't have anything to compare this to, but my oven was running hot so I wanted to find out the exact temp. According to this thermostat, my oven runs 50 degrees too hot. That's a huge difference. When I bake casseroles at 300 (350, actually) they turn out like they should, so I'm assuming this little gadget is telling the truth.

Lots of times we buy oven thermometers that don't even work. We tried this against our old oven thermometer at all different temps and found this was accurate. It's weird that many brands are not accurate, but I was happy to find this thermometer actually works. Who knew it would be something difficult to find. Buy it..
