This ONLY works with REAL EGGS, our family doesn't eat boiled eggs, so we TRIED to use the faux white eggs, intended for decorating. These lightweight eggs wouldn't stay in the decorating well, popping out as we tried to use this item. Probably a heavy WOOD eggs would work,
