Georgia Giant Revamp 8" Waterproof Work Boot, Brown, Size 10(M)

These boots are lined. I did not expect that for the price. Welt appears solid. Eyelets are solid and secure and quick lacing eyelets are a cast steel type, not stamped sheet metal usually found on cheaper boots. The tongue to toe transition is smooth and tight fitting with no excess tongue material that has to be somehow folded to get the tongue to lie flat. These lie flat and comfortable with just the right amount of material. There are no tight or loose spots within the boot to cause discomfort and no internal seams that I can feel.The visible seams are double or triple stitched depending on location. The sole is somewhat pliable, I contacted Georgia boots to inquire about the construction materials as I normally apply boot dressing to all my boots and was concerned from the description that part of the boot was synthetic. I received a prompt reply detailing the boot`s construction and stating the boot dressing I mentioned was compatible. Having retired after 44 years working railroad I have worn many boots. Mostly steel or comp toe but, I prefer a soft toe which these are. If working daily on railroad ballast, I would expect the soles to wear quickly because of the sole material mentioned above however, for good overall traction and non slip footing these are a good choice. I am considering buying a second pair but also weighing my age. A well built boot with a good fit for this price is not common in my experience.
