I 've owned this pot's 5.5 quart big brother for years so when I needed a durable 4 quart Dutch oven for bread making it was a no-brainer. It easily satisfies every use I can think of for a Dutch oven and is sufficiently beautiful for open display in ANY kitchen. Still beautiful after years of use. Make a pot roast or some chili in it and you will wonder how you ever got along without it. Yes it's heavy, it is supposed to be. BTW, a comparable Le Creuset pot lists for $389. Get this pot!

I love Lodge cast iron pieces. I use this piece daily along wirh my Lodge skillets. We have a gas stove and these pieces work wonderfully with the gas stove. Compared to other lines of cookware they are well priced and good quality. They easily go from stovetop to oven with no need to worry about high temperature damage.
