Generic brands may be cheaper but they dry out quickly OR leak like crazy. This brand is reliable every single time. These last for long periods, even during stretches of non-use. The colors are not dull %26 work on various types of white boards. They also clean easily, unlike other brands that smear and/or stain the boards. The magnets are really handy for storage as well. I like the eraser lids also for quick corrections. Very easy to use, clean, store, %26 keep for a long time.
