Mango thief watch out! Last year someone came in the middle of the night onto our property and stole every single mango, didn't even leave us one - so I needed to put up a camera and signs. I wanted a solar powered one so I don't need to charge it all the time - wasn't sure if the wifi signal would reach this far, so I installed this one this morning and WOW! THe signal seems weak but it WORKS!!!! (that's a function of my cheap wifi router, which is not the strongest, to be honest – probably need to upgrade it.) It was REALLY easy to set up and follow directions, after scanning the app, it only took about a minute before it was connected and paired (although at first I had my phone set to 5ghz network and it didn't work – it's for 2ghz only), so when I realized the issue, I changed my phone to the 2ghz network and it connected immediately. And it's important to have the Location switched on when installing it. I tested it in the house and it was fine, super strong signal – but the big test - would it work out on the fence!!!! YES YES YES! I used zip ties to secure it to the fence, and at some point may paint the housing the same color green as the foliage so it doesn't stand out so much - but it's fantastic - it took video and photos of me attaching it to the fence, and once it was in place, took a photo of a person walking their dog past the tree. I LOVE that you can use the app to move the lens (pan and tilt) AND there's an alarm system and a white light, so if someone tries to steal the mangoes, I can talk to them, shine a light on them and warn them with an alarm - there is an option for it to record events when a human is there (so it doesn't go off for animals or birds) - I am really impressed with this camera. It automatically records events to the sd card, but I can manually take a photo or video, which is saved to my phone. The solar panel was easy to install with zipties too – I am just delighted. Toguard is a great brand, and also gives good customer service so I know if I have any questions, I can ask them. I can't WAIT to catch the mango thief in action.
