They are substantial enough to wear alone, but naturally pair perfectly with sweaters, sweatshirts, and hoodies. Even though I am 5'4" and long waisted, I appreciate that the solid colors are available in a petite length I need in this top. They do not shrink and launder beautifully. Highly recommend!
