SAFAVIEH Avita 18''H Wicker Dining Chair Natural

Just perfect! I was VERY skeptical at the unboxing. Two separate pieces and 6 bolts. The seat and frame wood looked like it was from a scrap heap...you've seen the Indonesian rough construction before...nothing really lines up, looks haphazardly stapled and glued, holes drilled by hand, the stuff Pier One wouldn't even sell. Just one bolt for each front leg and 4 to attach the back section. But you don't see that once it is put together. What you see is a gorgeous thick banana leaf/rattan weave that is the color of toffee and chocolate with the faintest hue of mahogany, and shiny like it has a clear coating and not just raw wicker. The color absolutely glows, and compliments my natural solid mahogany dining table very well. A couple of wide leaf plants or ferns and the room looks like a high end Thai restaurant. Anyhow, the second chair had a much more uniform wood frame, and after both were bolted and leveled (you need to keep the bolts loose until it is upright on a flat surface, then tighten all 6) the chairs looks magnificent. They are also heavy, and time will tell how durable they are. I plan to get some thin seat cushions because I think the first thing to wear out, if it does eventually wear out, will be the seat. Being a woodworker, I am going to put a 3.5 inch screw from the frame to each leg, and also a few between the seat frame and back section. Then it will be rock steady.
