Learned the hard way

It's been decades since I had plums and I wanted a couple for a couple different smoothie recipes. They looked great and fresh. They were sitting on the counter for a couple days when I used my first one. I could not believe how hard it was to cut into it. I also thought it added a strange taste to my smoothie. I finally got curious and looked up if they are supposed to be that hard just to find out they were unripe. Go figure! They looked and smelled great so I will buy them again and make sure they are ripe before I use them. It should be better then.

plum bad

One of the plums was bad on top. It was discolored and soft. Food should be checked all around when picking this is not the first time it's happened.

again I had somebody shop these for me. they have to do better at picking. some were ripe some were not. other stores really train their employees how to pick fruit. I wish there would be a little more in-depth training at some of these stores. The taste was okay and there wasn't anything wrong with them technically. just a little under ripe
