Shrinks up when washed

I tried this t-shirt on as soon as I got it and it fit great. As soon as I washed it though it shrink up so small that I can't wear it now. Unfortunately since it fit when I tried it on I threw away the plastic with the barcode on it, so now I am stuck with a $14 t-shirt that I can't even wear.
