i hate wasting food but unfortunately we all waste at some time. this is one of those things that doesn't get wasted - strong tomato taste and lasts quite some time. i find myself using it more frequently as it is so easy to use. yes, the little cans are cheaper but i end up throwing half away each time i open one. i use EVERY bi of the guy. This is the most convenient way to buy and use tomato paste. Sometimes you only need a tablespoon or less. This way it's fresh and you don't waste an entire can for one spoon full. I keep this in stock in my pantry and really kinda panic when I run out until I get more. It keeps in the refrigerator after opening and is always on hand and easy to use.
