Let me be clear in this review, that I am NOT a gamer and have nothing to do with rating cards that perform while you shoot aliens or stomp on perps.
I use this card exclusively for Adobe CC editing and image processing with Adobe Photoshop cc 2014 and of course Adobe Premiere Pro video editing and rendering.
Anything that saves me time in the editing room, gets me back out there capturing images and collecting video segments, is a GREAT bonus.
I run Windows 7 64bit Professional on Dell XPS 8700 Desk Top units...
Because these desk top systems have power packs that are under 500 watts, gamer cards are out of the question, as I would not change out the power unit (that voids the warranty)...
I researched Adobe CC compatible video cards and found that they provide a list of approved graphics cards, which are designed to work with Adobe cc programs.
These cards draw less power than the cards I removed (I did this with two systems)... and perform off the chart!
Video rendering a 30 minute 1080p segment with time consuming functions, such as warp image stabilization, used to take up to 45 minutes to perform. Now, that's 10 minutes. I can't tell you what a bonus that is for me.
Another side benefit, during editing in Photoshop, I used to see delays when cloning or burning large images, using a wacom tablet. Now, there is no delay and the edits happen as quickly as I can move my wacom pen. No matter how broad or tiny the change is.
Another benefit, has been editing accuracy... that's something I did not expect to experience. Better screen resolution and fine detail editing, is spot on... it's like I was just given glasses and didn't realize how bad my vision was.
The card is quiet... even when stressing the card, while doing graphics testing, I'm amazed that I don't hear that familiar whirrrr.. that used to happen when I was doing something that stressed the card.
I did not use the audio connection, so can't describe that performance option. But I can say, that this is the card for anyone doing creative processes on your computer.
I'm a professional photographer, and the ability to deliver finished video and photos, is critical to my customer satisfaction.
Speedy, effortless workflow... I'm officially spoiled.
Definitely endorse the Nvidia Quadro K4000 graphics card to anyone who doesn't want to "LIVE" in front of their computer screen and needs to get back to taking photos and capturing video.
Shooting in 4k, without this card? Forget about it! I avoided the format before, now I can enjoy it.
