Defective 8TB External Hard Drive

Attempted to use the Hent 8TB External USB Hard Drive to backup files from my laptop. The drive failed to perform. It produced an error message saying the drive needed to be repair. It did not copy any files. It only created the folder that I had designated for backup but the folder was empty and when I tried to delete it I got an error message. This External Hard Drive is unreliable.
