To be clear, the pitcher is plastic, not glass. If you were hoping to use this with other oster pitchers you have from previous blown out belnders they do not fit. The bottom of the pitcher does not come off like a traditional blender. However we have used this blender almost daily for smoothies, salsas, guacamole, blended ice beverages and homemade salad dressing. At first I thought I would hate the plastic pitcher, but now I have to say I love it, It makes things way easier for me and my arthritic hands. Super lightweight and instead of it being a negative I have found that to be a plus. The speed options are enough for my family's usage types. Also the pricepoint is GREAT!!
