Excellent design. Unlike all-glass covers, this one uses silicon as well as glass so it's much lighter, which is helpful when lifting the lid since the microwave is mounted above the stove. Able to flatten the silicone for storage and also to use it as a pot cover. Very happy with this purchase.

This is an excellent FOOD MICROWAVE COVER . I've bought several covers over the years, because they usually start to leave a PLASTIC TASTE on my food. But this FOOD MICROWAVE COVER , DOESN'T leave any PLASTIC taste on my food. It's a little heavier than the common COVER, because the TOP of the unit is GLASS . And when you're ready to remove the unit from the MICROWAVE, the HANDLE will NOT be HOT.

It does the job and a great splatter cover. However, the top of the cover , the handle area gets very hot if you microwave something for more than 2 mins. At that point you almost run the risk of burning yourself.
