About this item

Product details

The FWD VIA is built to “take it to the max” on the road, pairing high stack cushioning with a forward‑rocker geometry that helps roll you smoothly through each stride. A low 4 mm heel‑to‑toe drop complements the rocker to provide an efficient toe‑off while maintaining a natural feel, and the wide, high‑volume FootShape toe box gives ample room for toe splay and all‑day comfort. Durable rubber segments on the outsole add traction and stability, making this shoe ideal for daily training, recovery runs, and comfortable walking.

Not original fit - too narrow across midfoot

I have owned 15+ pairs of Altra shoes over the years and have loved them. Paradigms were my favorite for years, but in the past few years I switched to Via Olympus as the Paradigm was narrowing and I needed a little more cushion. When I learned that Via Olympus was being replaced by FWD Via I ordered a pair. I was so sad to discover that the midfoot was not original fit but had narrowed like every other style of Altra. I was a loyal Altra fan for so many years and now I am forced to look for another brand that will fit my foot that has not really changed shape in the past 10 years.
