Anti-theft device was problematic

The shirt was perfect. However, I purchased it in the self-checkout and was not aware of the anti-theft device attached to the sleeve. I immediately took the shirt to the post office to mail it to my granddaughter and noticed the device, but I was at the point of purchase to send the package, and I didn't have time to run back to Walmart and have the device removed, so I mailed it, hoping that my granddaughter would be able to have it removed at her local Walmart. (I live in Utah; she is in Virginia.) I wish that I had been alerted to the device while I was in my local Walmart.
