I purchased this bell for my 90 yr old parent to use as a call bell while recovering with a fractured knee.It worked.She was able to hit it when she needed assistance.It is very versatile.The smiley face makes everything better!! Love it!! and Soo does she!! Recommend this bell for all occasions!!

Well, the bell was shipped from China in a flimsy thin plastic container inside a plastic bag. Not suprisingly, it was bent down to one side, and thunked a bit instead of dinging. My husband pried it back up, and it dings beautifully. I'm surprised and happy it wasn't bent or chipped, but really, a plastic bag?!
