Fill your clean litter box with 3–4 inches of Fresh Step litter. Pour litter no more than a few inches from the box OR keep the carton close to the box when pouring litter. Litter quickly forms a clump around liquid waste. Remove clumps and solids daily, and dispose of in trash. Do not flush. Add more Fresh Step clumping cat litter to refresh your litter box. Maintain level of litter at 3–4 inches.

I used Fresh Step Lightweight for years and years, but then Fresh Step changed it. The new style was basically a jug of dust which my cats hated. I hated it, too. A cat who is unhappy with their litter box can create all kinds of problems with inappropriate peeing. I tried Tidy Cats with Glade. I hated it and my cats did, too. And it has an unpleasant smell. Then I tried Fresh Step Simply Unscented and placed an additional box in my house with this litter in it. The cats abandoned the Tidy Cats/old fresh step light weight box and are using this box exclusively. So, I'll be dumping the original box and filling it with this. The dust is not bad at all and it seems to have lightened the tracking problem, too. This one looks like a winner.

This is by far the best litter I have used. And I have 14 inside cats. This litter does the best with wet deposits, I mean clumps good. It seems to keep the litter box more sanitary. I scoop 6 boxes, 5 or 6 times a day. It is dustier but, the trade off is worth it.
