I purchased this as a gift for my son to put in his emergency preparedness kit. He was pleased with it. He was impressed with the reception for our area. He did mention that the hand cranked charging system is about even crank for a minute listen for a minute but the solar seems to be reliable.

Gave this 5 stars because it does do everything it is advertised. I put this in my windowsill for automatic charging from the sun. Hand crank also works if you want to use that as does the provided cable to plug in. Only disappointment is the antenna does not pull in as many stations as I would like but is still great if you lose power or other emergency and the portability is great. Purchased in yellow for visibility..
