I bought the men's size Large boots based on the size chart and other reviews to fit over an old pair of women's size 12N Saucony stability walking shoes that I wear for gardening, etc. The shoes are quite bulky, with a wide toe box, but with a bit of effort I was able to put the boots over them. They fit tightly enough that I decided to leave the boots on the shoes rather than going to the trouble of taking them off and putting them back on repeatedly. That proved to be a good decision, because mud brushes off the boots very easily compared with digging it out of the treads on the shoes. If I want the boots even cleaner, it's easy to run water over them while brushing without getting the shoes wet because the sides of the boots come up high enough to cover all but the very tops of the shoes. The treads on the soles of the boots provide good traction on slippery, uneven ground, so I find them ideal for working in the yard or going out in the rain. I definitely recommend them.
