Beautiful chairs, but wonky legs

This is a beautiful set of chairs. Seems like they would be very comfortable, as there is nice padding on both the seat and back. I only ordered 2 to begin with, with plans of buying 2 more if these were as nice as I hoped. I returned because of assembly. I am 70 years old and having been assembling prefab and building from scratch most of my life. Following directions of not tightening until the end, resulted in the legs being pulled away from the frame edge and toward the middle where no part of the top of the leg would be supported. I tried 4x on first leg, 2x on second leg and a friend then tried. We even turned the legs in different directions, thinking maybe we just were looking at the picture/directions wrong. Did not try on the second chair.. what good would one chair be? I was greatly disappointed. I really liked these chairs.
