I thought the flannel would be a little heavier than it was but in the long run I think you know children get really warm in bed and I thought it's probably he would probably be more comfortable in this lighter weight flannel. Cute, super soft, and my toddler loves them! He is on the tail end 3T and I got a size 4. They seem to run slightly small, I would maybe consider sizing up if you want them to be able to be worn for a longer period of time.
