Good for posing not for playing

Many have complained about this mold of astrotrain, but they are forgetting the engineering involved to make a triple changer. It’s often a lot harder then we realize to make three forms work smoothly together. That being said the figure could have done with less features so that the core forms would have worked better with each other. I got him hoping he would be better then anticipated and he was as far as posing but sadly I would recommend him only for this, if your looking for more play value or for a younger collector consider one of his previous molds. I still think he came out pretty decent though.

Bolster you Deception Forces

Ok,..I was originally not going to get this figure, because yes I have a perfectly great Siege version that came with more accessories,....Im so happy I didnt listen to other reviewers and just took a chance. The figure is slightly taller ,a triple changer in which you get 2 beautiful alt modes and surprisingly pretty good Robot mode,..3 blast effects ,..smoke effect (for train mode) and 2 guns...no need for the additional gimmicks included previously. I say bolster your Decepticon toops in teh new slightly taller scale,..and your kids will find hours of enjoyment switching it between Shuttle to train to Bot and back again. Greet play value, Ratcheted joints so it not fidgeting and as previously stated the blast effects are nice touch but not projectiles.

Overhated Figure Thar Surprisingly Slaps

SS86 Astrotrain gets a lot of undo hate from the community, largely because of stock photography photos and reviewers that are more likely to highlight negative features for click bait, rather than being honest. If you’re looking for a version of this character to be on perpetual display in robot mode on your shelf? Pick up the dramatic capture version. That said, if you’re looking for an all-around great transformer, with a couple of compromises in all three modes, but largely delivers on all angles, pick this one up. Definitely worth the price for me, not worth listening to a lot of of the online reviewers who have thrown this figure under the box Solid 8/10.
