I would read the instructions and make notations, and afterwards the language is clearer. One example is if you want to hear the recording privately "wear the head set". And the number line page have some corresponding %23's that should be examples of how they work together... However the device is worth the money so far

It has great volume. Really dependable. I use it so often I have to change the batteries 1x a week. CONS: the library you store your items cannot be renamed or readjust the list. PROS: really great recorder, that even has batteries attached for you :-).
