This shows a picture of kitchen in background but has one major problem. It is taller than most normal counter tops in the standard kitchen. The mounting into my kitchen counters will require extra attachments as it is taller than expected by about four inches and the counter has an overhang of about two inches. The plastic mounts for each side have screws and adheres to the surface keeping it in place for one person installment. The stairwell or staircase would be a good location to keep pets from accessing other levels of your home. It seems to function easily after mounted, retracting and extending from the spring-loaded spool side. Would be nicer if able to use with adjustable heights as well as width. Overall, a very sound material that seems very durable and long lasting.
