its the perfect amount of seasoning and i definitely authentic and is worth buying. there are 3 packs into every envelope.

I got interested in miso soup, but found it difficult to find at many asian restaurants. There is even an asian mall with many restaurants, and only one had miso soup, but it was ramen based, and pork belly slices instead of tofu. I decided to make my own, but found this prepared mix. Taste is better than I expected. Wish the tofu chunks, after rehydration, were bigger, though. I'll use this as a starter, and add some tofu chunks at the end of cooking along with some diced scallions or bok choy. For a dry mix with dehydrated ingredients, it surpassed my expectation (which was it would simply taste like salty broth). Still not as good as my homemade miso, but a lot easier to make. I also like Kikkoman's egg drop soup, and this is on par.
