Pool Float Propeller(11)

Arm floaties can provide some buoyancy for children learning to enjoy the water, but they aren't a substitute for close adult supervision. While they help keep arms above water, they may not keep a child's head up or prevent tipping. For added safety, consider using a properly fitted life jacket or flotation device that's approved for your child's age and weight. Always stay within arm's reach of kids in or near the pool, and remember that floaties are just one part of a safe swimming experience.

Most pool floats can be inflated with a variety of tools, including:

• Manual pumps: Hand or foot pumps are easy to use and portable.
• Electric air pumps: These inflate floats quickly and with less effort.
• Air compressors: Useful for larger floats, but make sure to use a low-pressure setting.
• By mouth: Smaller floats can often be blown up manually, though it takes more time and effort.

Always check the manufacturer's instructions for recommended inflation methods to avoid over-inflating or damaging your float.

To keep your pool floats from flying away in the wind, try these tips:

• Anchor them: Use pool float anchors or tie them to a stationary object when not in use.
• Store indoors: Bring floats inside or place them in a storage bin when you're done swimming.
• Deflate partially: Let some air out to make them less likely to catch the wind.
• Use weighted bags: Attach a small weight or sandbag if the float has a secure spot for it.

Taking these steps can help protect your floats and keep your pool area tidy.

For non-swimmers, the safest option is usually a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket or personal flotation device (PFD) designed for their age and weight. While pool floats and inflatable loungers are fun, they're not intended for safety or rescue. Always supervise non-swimmers closely, and make sure flotation devices fit properly and are worn as directed. For children, look for devices with secure straps and head support. Remember, no float replaces attentive supervision in and around water.

To keep your pool floats in good shape:

1. Rinse after use: Wash off chlorine, salt, or debris with fresh water.
2. Mild soap: Use a gentle soap and soft cloth for deeper cleaning, then rinse thoroughly.
3. Dry completely: Let floats air dry to prevent mold and mildew.
4. Store indoors: Keep floats in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to extend their life.

Proper care helps your floats last longer and stay looking great for every pool day.
