Creating a graduation shadow box is a fun way to display your memories. Here’s a simple approach you can try:

1. Choose your items: Gather keepsakes like your cap, tassel, diploma, photos, and cords.
2. Select a shadow box: Pick a size that fits your memorabilia. Many boxes have holders for tassels and photos.
3. Arrange your layout: Lay out your items before attaching them. Try different arrangements to see what looks best.
4. Secure your items: Use pins, double-sided tape, or fabric-friendly adhesives to hold everything in place.
5. Close and display: Once you’re happy with the look, close the box and hang it or place it on a shelf.

Feel free to get creative with backgrounds or labels to personalize your display!

A graduation shadow box is more than just a frame—it's a way to celebrate and remember your academic journey. Traditionally, these boxes are used to showcase important items from graduation, like your cap, tassel, diploma, and special awards. They serve as a keepsake that highlights your achievements and milestones, making it easy to look back on your hard work and special moments. Many people display them at home or in their office as a reminder of their accomplishment and the support they received along the way.

Choosing the right size shadow box for a graduation gown depends on how you want to display it. For a full gown, larger shadow boxes—often around 23 x 27 inches or bigger—work well. If you’re only including a folded section of the gown or pairing it with other items like your cap and diploma, a slightly smaller box may be enough. Always check the interior dimensions and consider how much space you’ll need for all your keepsakes. Many shadow boxes are designed with enough depth to fit fabric items comfortably.

Absolutely! Graduation shadow boxes are perfect for displaying cords, medals, stoles, and other honors. Most have enough depth and a secure backing to pin or attach these items alongside your cap, tassel, and diploma. For best results, arrange heavier items near the bottom and use sturdy pins or clips to keep them in place. This way, you can create a personalized display that highlights all your achievements in one spot.

To keep your graduation shadow box looking its best:

• Dust regularly: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the glass or acrylic front.
• Avoid direct sunlight: Display your box away from strong sunlight to prevent fading of photos and fabrics.
• Check the seal: Make sure the box is closed tightly to keep out dust and moisture.
• Handle with care: When moving or cleaning, support the box from the bottom to avoid stress on the frame.

These simple steps can help preserve your keepsakes for years to come.
