Using flat tire sealant is a quick way to get back on the road. Here’s a general guide:

1. Move your vehicle to a safe, flat spot and turn on your hazard lights.
2. Remove the cap from your tire’s valve stem.
3. Shake the sealant can well, then attach the nozzle to the valve.
4. Press the button to release the sealant into the tire. The product will both seal the puncture and inflate the tire enough to drive.
5. Drive slowly for a few miles to help distribute the sealant inside the tire.

Always check your tire pressure and visit a professional for a permanent repair as soon as possible.

Many tire sealants are designed for a range of uses, including bikes and lawn mowers. It’s important to check the product label to confirm compatibility with your specific tire type. Some sealants are formulated for tubeless tires, while others work with tubes. Using the right sealant can help prevent and repair small punctures, keeping your equipment running smoothly. Always follow the instructions for the best results and safety.

Emergency tire sealant is intended as a temporary fix. Most products recommend driving only a limited distance and at moderate speeds after application—typically up to 100 miles or until you can get a permanent repair. The sealant may start to lose effectiveness over time, especially if exposed to heat or if the puncture is large. It’s best to have your tire inspected and professionally repaired or replaced as soon as possible after using sealant.

After using a tire inflator or sealant, it’s a good idea to:

• Check your tire pressure to ensure it’s within the recommended range.
• Drive slowly and avoid long trips until the tire is professionally inspected.
• Let your repair shop know you’ve used a sealant, as it can affect the repair process.

Prompt follow-up helps maintain your safety and the longevity of your tire.

Flat fix kits are generally compact and designed for easy storage. Most come in small bottles or cans that fit in your trunk, glove box, or under a seat. Keeping a kit handy means you’re prepared for unexpected flats, especially if you’re traveling in areas where help might not be immediately available. Just make sure to check the expiration date on your kit periodically for best performance.
