Flare jeans are often called bell bottoms, bootcut jeans, or simply flared pants in today’s fashion. You might also see terms like micro flare, wide leg, or bootcut used to describe similar styles for kids. These pants feature a wider opening at the bottom, giving them that classic flared look. When shopping at Walmart, you’ll notice these names used interchangeably to help you find the perfect fit for your child’s wardrobe.

Flare isn’t commonly used as a boy’s name. In the context of kids’ clothing, especially on Walmart’s site, “flare” refers to the style of pants with a wider leg opening at the bottom. If you’re searching for trendy pants for boys, look for terms like flare pants, bell bottoms, or bootcut trousers—these all describe the shape of the pants, not a person’s name.

Flared jeans and pants continue to be a popular choice for kids, and the trend is expected to stick around through 2026. The style’s comeback is fueled by its comfortable fit and fun, retro vibe. At Walmart, you’ll find a wide range of kids’ flare pants in different colors, fabrics, and designs—making them a versatile pick for school, play, or casual outings. Fashion trends can shift, but flared styles remain a staple in many children’s wardrobes.

While both bootcut and flare pants have wider leg openings, there are some key differences:

• Bootcut pants have a slight flare that starts below the knee, just enough to fit over boots.
• Flare pants have a more dramatic, wider opening from the knee down, creating a bell-shaped look.

Both styles are available for kids at Walmart, so you can pick the one that best fits your child’s comfort and style preferences.

Choosing the right size flare pants for your child is easy with a few tips:

• Check the size chart on each product page for measurements in age, height, and waist.
• Look for adjustable features like elastic waists or internal bands for a flexible fit.
• Consider the fabric’s stretch—some flare pants offer more give for active kids.
• If your child is between sizes, sizing up can allow for growth and comfort.

Walmart’s wide selection makes it simple to find the perfect fit for every child.
