Beautiful, versatile pan.

The Pioneer Woman Timeless Beauty Turquoise 5qt Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven w/ Embossed Lid Is a fabulous pan! It is very heavy as it is cast iron and all of the surfaces are coated -including the cooking surface so you do not need to worry about using tomato sauces. The inside coating is very value added for that reason and also because you can wash it easily. The coating releases stuck or burned on food. If you are very busy at dinner time like I am, it's not unusual for me to simmer sauces and get done stuck to the bottom of pans. This is NO problem with this pan as a soapy soak takes care of the problem. This can go from stove to oven as well so frees up my stove and I can keep food warm in my oven now. I can find no extreme cons. A minor drawback is that the coating on the decorative design on the pan top can chip, and I have 2 tiny chips already but instructions say to just oil over any chips where cast iron shows and it takes care of the problem. The chips do not in any way detract from the functionality of this versatile pan. I love it!

Great Dutch oven, pretty and functional.

I can't stop gushing about the Pioneer Woman Timeless Beauty Red 5qt Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven w/ Embossed Lid. This Dutch oven is seemingly the perfect size for my family. It is large enough that I can cook soups, casseroles and other dishes for my family of five without any trouble, but not so large that it is too cumbersome or heavy to carry, clean or use. At the same time, it looks nice with the embossed lid and color, I leave it out on my counter as a decoration and then I don't have to store it away either in a cabinet. The quality of this Dutch oven seems to be very good, so far after using it to cook eight different meals the enamel has not chipped. What I like most about this item is its versatility. I can use it to cook almost any dish I desire, both on the cook top and in the oven. The cast iron transfers the heat evenly to all sides and the enamel keeps most foods from burning or sticking. This Dutch oven does come with two different lid handles, a more decorative one and a simple one. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a Dutch oven.

Great pot worth its weight!

Love this pot both for its beauty and practicality. You must expect that it will be heavy, it is made of enamel coated cast iron. That being said, it is very well worth its weight. The cool turquoise color is so pretty, so storing it in sight is not a problem. Keeping it in the kitchen or nearby, means you don't have to carry it too far. It comes with a cute daily handle, but also an extra plain one if that isn't your style. Cooking in it is a dream, after washing & rubbing it with a little cooking oil, it's good to go. Cleaning it with soapy water couldn't be easier. It heats evenly and keeps things warm for a good long while. If you're used to cooking in cast iron, this won't disappoint! The enamel coating is such a great feature, making it easier to clean & you can use any of your utensils to stir with. It comes with a nice variety of recipes in a little pamphlet, along with care instructions. A joy to cook in and beautiful enough to serve from on the table.
