I gave the heat of three because I've not used this pan yet so I don't know how good it holds in heat or how good it works. I don't know anything about the cooking in it or doing sourdough in it or anything like that because I haven't used it there again I haven't used it and as soon as I make my sourdough bread, I will be using it for the first time. Eventually, I'll cook a chicken in it or a roast and eventually I'll do my sourdough. I might do a soup in it. It's a heavy pot, but it's worth it because it's good. It feels sturdy and thick.

Complete transparency, I have never used a Dutch oven before. But after coming across so many recipes that show a Dutch oven as the preferred method I began to research. It is amazing how expensive these things can be. However, this "Beautiful Kitchenware" by Drew not only looks elegant, but the overall quality is fantastic for the price point. And being enameled cast iron, it does have a little bit of weight but the heat retention is amazing. I tried this out right away and made the best sirloin tip roast I ever had. I can't wait to try the next recipe. The size is perfect at 6qt. And the oval shape is great to have your roast lie nicely inside. Highly recommend .

Great Dutch oven.

I used this for the first time last night. Cooked great although wish the lid was higher. That being said while it is very roomy in there, do watch that the meat will fit. No meat over 10 lbs. My shopper subbed a 13 lb bone in pork roast for my 10 lb boneless. His pick needed an oversized turkey roaster. I cut meat off and apart to make it fit. Result in dutch oven perfect.

It is a beautiful piece and picture is accurate. Washes well. I am going to use the lid protectors to prevent chips on edges which would be normal wear on enameled cast iron.

Gorgeous %26 well made

Have wanted an enamel over cast iron dutch oven for a while. i dont know why I didnt get one sooner. Seems to be best of both worlds, cast iron even heating and heat transfer, and the easy clean up with the enamel coating. Admittedly I was apprehensive about buying a white dutch oven, but so far its cleaned up well and after a handful of uses looks as good as day one.

great dutch oven

I have been wanting a Dutch oven for years. This one is special. I got the black gold combo and I have used it dozens of time. Not only is it heavy duty and super easy to clean it just looks amazing. You can soak for stubborn stains and they come off fine. I can't tell you how happy I am with this. I love it so much I got the pans. My cassarole and one pot cooking has gone through the roof. Also my bread making. I just love it.

it's perfect.

I needed a Dutch oven because all of mine are in storage. I've only ever purchased Le Creuset and Staub (well over $400 for this same size). This met and exceeded my standards! It heats evenly, and washes well. It's very well made. This will be my new go to brand for all enameled cast iron! Worth every penny!

Beyond Expectations

Nothing wrong with the item but I was VERY disappointed in the box. This is a gift (and not cheap) and the box was damaged cardboard, taped shut with black electrical tape (apparently having been previously mailed or returned). There is no "nice" box inside containing the dutch oven. It's going to make a sorry looking gift! Since the order came from a registry, I'd have expected more care.

Damaged Box

The paint looks like it is missing a protective layer. I’ve never seen a Dutch oven like this. It should be protective. It looks cheap not what I expected. It looks so much nicer in the photos.

From the second I took from box-the exterior had black scuffs. Then I baked bread today-interior cleans ok, but again…exterior finish horrific. It does not clean up. Actually scuff marks from box still appear. Plus anything that touches it leaves marks. I'm so disappointed. I have her brand bread dome which I love. THIS ONE-noooooooo! Do not buy! Beware!!?
It almost seems like a chalk paint. Horrible!!??

Horrible. Uncleanable matte finish. Bad quality!

had a big divet or pot hole on one side of bottom . poor quality control , it had been coated though . looks nice but I didn't use it, I returned it promptly .

poor quality control , China ?
