This TV stand was very well packaged. The directions were very clear and easy to follow. I had no help but was able to assemble it myself, though it took several hours. This unit while heavy and sturdy, is made of particle board. There was some minor chipping/flaking when putting in the screws for the cam-locks. Nothing is visible though. Be careful. Like everyone else, the doors took some adjusting to align, that is how they are made, to be adjustable. The screws loosen and the hinge slides either way. Be patient. Mainstays products are usually worth their money, and this one is. No regrets.

Easy to build alone!

THIS WAS SO EASY TO DO ALONE. When I tell you this is probably one of the easiest pieces of furniture I put together!! When building the base if you're doing it alone I suggest to go ahead and screw the middle piece on that holds the console together. It doesn't tell you to do it but when you start building the sides go ahead and screw in that piece. It took me an hour to put together by myself.

Great instructions and preparation.

The assembly instructions are amazing, the best I tried. Everything is prepared -holes, etc, at a notch. The only deficient was the heigth of one door, that type is harder to adjust and seen upfront a bit. Other adjustments were easy and worked. It can be done for the most part by one person, not necessarily strong one, but better 2, especially when hanging the doors. It is modest but elegant.
