Love these blankets. Believe it or not, they actually hold up pretty well in spite of my cats' claws coming in constant contact with it.

I read the details and this is perfect for my needs. I was looking for an oversized throw to put on top of my bed to protect the bedding from my cats' claws. Three kitties love the soft fabric and the cut pile does not catch their claws nearly as much as the towels I've used for several years. Read the dimensions, as the blanket may be a little undersized for standard beds, but they will be perfect for the extra blanket for a colder night or to cuddle under watching tv. The purple I ordered is very close to the color on my monitor, but that can vary from computer to computer. Fabric is soft with a lovely drape. I ordered the twin size to go side-to-side on my queed bed which fits fine with a 10" drop on both sides and from the pillows almost to the footboard where I have an extra blanket for the cats to sleep on. Have not yet washed it, but will follow directions in cold water. No chemical smell noticed.
