Great Value Clear Ammonia All Purpose Cleaners, 64 fl oz

I learned about this in a laundry group. I'd forgotten my grandmother used it. If you're washing laundry that has persistent odors (like armpit funk) or is very greasy/oily or has those pesky little oil spots after a wash load, add a cup of ammonia to your wash cycle with your regular detergent. I pour it right into the bottom of the drum, regardless of top/front load. If you can, add an extra rinse. It will smell lightly of ammonia at end of wash cycle but will smell of nothing at all once dry.

I stumbled upon a great little hack for Ammonia and wanted to share it. Living out in a very rural area, we've had our fair share of bear guests. Yup, curious black bears rummaging around our trash cans. A friend mentioned that bears really dislike the smell of ammonia, so I picked up a bottle of this stuff at Walmart. First off, the value can't be beat, and you get plenty more for your money compared to other store brands. I don't use it for cleaning, but rather to dash a few capfuls into the trash can, and it's surprisingly effective. The scent seems to deter bears from lumbering around our bins, and honestly, I feel safer knowing I won't have to clear up a mess from the bears!. It's simple, inexpensive, and it does the job I need for keeping wildlife away from our trash. Wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
