I watched my boyfriend put this together, and it took maybe 1hr. He said it came with no written instructions, so he basically winged it. However, the bed is still sturdy. Based on our daughters weight, we're not worried about her needing a box spring but if we laid down with her, there is defintely NOT enough support to hold an adults weight. So I'd consider that before purchasing. The look is flawless and it matches perfectly with her room decor.
