Made A Lasting Impression

These Fender/Bumpers originally seemed well made but I experienced an odd problem with them. They come shipped, wrapped in a plastic package, with a short hanger rope, loosely wrapped around them, inside of the package. The rope made a permanent impression in the vinyl exterior and also in the underlying foam. I am not sure if this permanent impression is due to heat exposure during shipment or poor quality foam on the inside of the unit. The first ones that I received from Walmart.com, had been compressed in to a "to small" shipping carton. After a few days out of the carton, they still would not expand back out to their original shape. I contacted the manufacturer and sent them pictures of the problem. The manufacturer sent me replacements. They were not as tightly packed as the ones from Walmat.com but I noted the same permanent, rope impression problems, with the replacements. The rope impressions were not as bad on the replacements so I decided to keep them. I have not tried them on my boat yet but I am wondering what will happen to them when they are exposed to the hot sun.
