Bought this for my daughter, I have one also. We walk and hike a lot, so great to have handy for protection. I tried it out and the stream go out quite a ways before it starts to drop making it so you don't need to be that close to use..

I run with this clipped on the inside of my running shorts every day. I feel much safer carrying this because it fires a considerable distance and has plenty of spray duration for multiple threats. Some of the knockoff brands empty in a couple of seconds. When I'm out and about or running errands, I carry it on my strong side in my pocket and it becomes a backup unit to my Sabre 3 in 1 keychain spray. I like the keychain spray because I can conceal the canister in my hand with my fingers around the finger grip, and it just looks like I'm holding my keys. Sabre makes very reliable pepper sprays and is the pepper spray carried by our local police and sheriff's departments. I personally prefer the blend of red pepper and CS tear gas. It hits fast, hits hard and does a very good job at deterring aggressive subjects. I also keep several of the 3 in 1 Magnum 120 canisters throughout our house (bedside, front door, living room).
