Didn't work for me
I thought, based on the price, that these would be a good value considering how expensive other solutions are. In theory, they are OK. They really don't fit 1/4" line, but 3/16" line seems to be pretty wimpy for the job. Also, they are not very flexible - they work on horizontal railings and that's about it. If one would want to use them in a number of different positions with radically different heights, I don't think they would suffice. also, I would expect the plastic would be hitting the boat when not perfectly fitted to a location

They do work with ¼” rope – well tested here in the past. However, they are correct in that this style/size adjuster just isn’t the best for some applications. The lighter rope means that you probably wouldn’t use these for large fenders (want 3/8”). They do really only work where you have railings to attach to – might not be feasible to attach to a cleat for instance. Depending on where the hanger falls from mounting point to fender, they very well could be in position to hit the gel coat on the side-hull. Having said all that – for the right application, they work great and perform as intended.
