Used in NVMe enclosure to create a backup drive

Super easy to install this PCIe M.2 SSD in a typical external enclosure that's designed for an NVMe. Makes for a high quality compact backup drive for a notebook computer. However, i noticed the drive performance waining after 15 minutes at full data transfer rates when I made my initial system backup. I suspected it was due to overheating of the SSD and poor thermal dispersion in the sealed plastic NVMe enclosure. Simply attaching a M.2 thermal pad to the SSD improved heat dissipation and all that was required to keep the temperature down and the performance consistently high. Definitely recommended.

Solid value, performance, and price

Great value for the price, this is exactly what I was looking for as I've had every other form of SSD drive and needed to expand my SSD and overall storage capacity. Only reason I gave it 4 stars for installation, is that it is very small and difficult to handle in tight spaces, which is exactly where I needed to install it for the ideal slot (was between the GPU and CPU/Pump area). Otherwise you simply slide it into the correct spot and tighten the screw in place and you're ready to go (after Disk Management in Windows anyway)

Solid performance from a Gen 3 NVMe M.2 SSD

While this is a Gen 3 NVMe M.2 SSD, performance is reliable and runs not too hot. Like all other quality memory cards , this was $50 higher then the last one purchased but is a bit less than some of the competitors. This was placed in a mini PC not designed for gaming. Perfect match. Note, no OEM cloning software download included (PNY usually will include Acronis True Image Cloning in their higher priced packages.).
