great pot for everyday cooking

I saw this pot on sale at local wal mart for 15$ and bought it right away knowing the value. I absolutely love using it!! My only concern is how durable the enamel is on it. i have used many other cast iron pans and love the way they cook. This one cooks food evenly and at lower temps wich is great. It heats up rather quickly so be careful. Noticed that handle on lid is just screwed in but haven't had any problems with this yet. My boyfriend and i had looked a other more expensive brand but fell in love with this one.

Lodge Enameled Cast Iron 6 Quart Dutch Oven

We have always like our Lodge cast iron pans. WE have had them for years. Using them inside and outside. When the enameled cast iron came out we bought 2, a red 3.5 quart and an red oval one. We used them all the time. So when we decided to go for a larger pan and we wanted an enamel one. I wanted another red one but after seeing some cooking shows I ordered a green one. I love it. we have used it at least 2 times a week for soups, chili, pot roast. It works beautifully. From oven to burners. I am careful because in the past the enamel has chipped. So I am careful with putting the top on and off and placing it on the shelf. I give it a ten.

Very quick delivery. Made chicken soup and rice pudding; great for even heat - simmering and clean up was a snap. This is going to be used often in my kitchen. This item if taken care of will be something you can pass down to the next generation because of its great craftmanship and color (I bought the blue one). Finally, for a 6 qt. the price was fantastic!
