Sauder Select Computer Desk, Brushed Maple Finish

This desk is replacing another Sauder computer desk I had for 30 years. I'm still sold on the brand. This desk has two features I was really looking for--size and a keyboard tray. At approximately 24" x 60", it equals the desk space I had before. This is plenty of room for two monitors, a lamp, and space to work. An improvement is a longer keyboard tray, one that is long enough for my keyboard and a mouse. This means I have the mouse within easier reach than on the desktop, and I get a lot of working space for papers, devices, etc. I like that it still keeps a file drawer and a desk drawer. How do people have desks without any storage??? The two drawbacks really can't be helped--the weight and the assembly. It took me around 6 hours to assemble, including the many trips up and down the stairs to bring the pieces up in small batches, since carrying a 120 lb. box up the stairs by myself wasn't going to happen. Everything was well labeled, though, and the pieces all fit together without having to force anything. It's a really nice, big desk at a price--saying yes to this was a no-brainer.

I bought this desk online without ever seeing it in person. It was much larger than I expected but fits very nice. The color is great. As far as getting it into my house, be warned it is approx 170# so I had to drag it into my house after the ups guy delivered it. Putting it together: There are quiet a few pieces but overall it went together well. The only trouble I had was with the door hinges on the left side of the desk. I kept reading the directions to try and figure out how to not crack the wood with the tension and still ended up cracking around one of the screw sites Total time to put it together was about 2.5 to 3 hours
