It took me a while to settle on a slim trash can that would fit the space where it would be placed. I was happy to find this one. One warning to those still searching: only purchase a trash can with an internal bin. Make sure that' s in the product description or shown in the pictures. Many trash cans don't have an internal bin. They use a "bag ring" that rests on top of the trash can itself. Should your trash bag leak or break, the contents will mess the bottom of the trash can. But an internal liner will catch any spill and can be easily washed out. This trash can comes with an internal bin. I've been using Glad FourceFlex 13 gallon bags, and they easily stretch around the top lip of the internal bin. The open and close action is smooth and looks like it will operate like that for quite a while. Some parts of foot-actuated trash cans have a plastic piece at the bottom between the foot pedal and the rod(s) that lift the lid. That plastic piece weakens over time to where the lid won't raise. I can't tell if this trash can uses that same type of plastic part (that part of the foot pedal action is cover), but I hope it's metal, so it will last. The appearance is beautiful (I went with black exterior). And I was VERY pleased with how it was shipped. I read negative comment after comment on different online store websites about how other brand kitchen trash cans arrived at the customers' homes. There were complaints of scratches and dents on their new trash cans. This one arrive in perfect condition. I give 5 stars just for that. The trash can is packaged in "two" boxes with Styrofoam inserts at the top and bottom of the inner box to hold it away from the inner walls of the inside box. I kept my fingers crossed as to how the trash can would be shipped, and I have to applaud the manufacturer for packaging the product safely. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the product. Is it worth the price? I'll say yes for now. But it's to soon to say about its longevity. So far, so good.
